Error Code 2002g (How to Fix It in Battlefield 2042)

Battlefield 2042 is now available to fans who pre-ordered the game, and it will be released in its entirety on Nov. 19.

While titles like Battlefield 2042 undergo stages of quality assurance, launch periods can cause more errors to occur because of the high volume of players eager to get their hands on the game.

It has been reported on official Battlefield 2042 forums and community hubs such as Reddit that players are experiencing error code 2002g. Generally, the error reads “Unable to load Persistence Data,” and it seems to be a server-related problem on EA’s side.

The community manager, EA_Atk, acknowledged the error on the official forums and said the developers were working on a fix. The ultimate fix is some time away, but there are still two troubleshooting methods that can allow you to bypass error code 2002g.

Start Your Router Again

We’ve already mentioned that this error occurs when your computer is unable to connect properly to the Battlefield servers. Therefore, you should begin by restarting your router and see if that helps. You can often resolve issues caused by network connectivity by restarting your router, which will force it to establish a new optimal connection to your ISP’s servers. Furthermore, if you do not have a static IP address, you will be assigned a new one, which can be helpful as well.

The power button is located on the backside of the router. Press it to restart your router. Additionally, there is a reset button, but this should be avoided as it will remove all of your network configurations, so you will have to begin from scratch. After restarting your router, make sure you close Battlefield and all clients used to run Battlefield, such as Origins and Steam. Check if the problem has been resolved by restarting the game.

Play The Game Directly Through Origin

Battlefield 2042 still opens through Origin even if players launch it through Steam or EA. Players have reported that launching the game directly on Origin fixed the 2002g error in Battlefield 2042, even though there shouldn’t be any different.

Players had also reported that some of their Battlefield 1942 saves were erased when they started playing Battlefield. However, players can get the data back by downloading Battlefield 1942 again, overwriting the save file with a new one and then relaunching Battlefield 2042 from the disc. This should be a non-issue if you’re using Origin. Battlefield 2042 is now available for PC via Origin, Steam, and PlayStation Network.

Turn Off Crossplay

Another fix suggested by a community member is disabling crossplay. For some players, disabling crossplay can improve their connection and fix the 2002g error. Even though the origins of the error are unknown, there is a chance that the game’s multiplayer features may be to blame.

You can also try to fix the error yourself if you’re lucky enough to get the same error while trying to play Fortnite Battle Royale. You can also attempt to troubleshoot your connection, and even connect to a different Wifi network if you want to give that a try. The good news is that both of these solutions have been reported to work.

Restart Your Router and Battlefield 2042

Players can also restart their router alongside Battlefield 2042 to resolve the error code 2002g that appears whenever there is a connectivity issue.

Start Battlefield 2042 as soon as your router has been restarted to check if your error code has been resolved. To get rid of this error completely, you’ll have to wait until a fix is rolled out before you can reconnect again.
